DIVORCE

In Kentucky there are two approaches to a divorce. One approach is referred to as "uncontested divorce" and the other is referred to as "contested divorce". The difference between the two approaches is that in an uncontested divorce you and your spouse come to an agreement as to all of the matters regarding your divorce. These matters would include agreements on the division of all of your property, assets, and debts and would also include agreements on issues of maintenance and custody issues.

On the otherhand, a contested divorce  occurrs when you and your spouse cannot come to an agreement on all of the matters listed above. In this situation it may become necessary for the court to make those decisions. Contested divorces are very time consuming, financially expensive and personally taxing. Many couples choose to pursue an uncontested divorce to resolve their issues to avoid the time, expense and personal anguish involved with a contested divorce.

If you are going through a divorce contact the Law Offices of John Hayden today at (859) 491-1000 to set up your free consultation. At your consultation you will meet with one of our attorneys, (not a paralegal), who will assess your situation and present a thoughtful response based on your wants and needs and the law.

Below is a list of prices applicable to an uncontested divorce. Contested divorce fees can be discussed at your consultation and set depending on your individual situation.
